That's a good signing. Just a couple of questions...
How much did Benfica cough up? Is he EU eligible?

2.5M Euros for half his pass. Not sure why he wouldn't be eligible, is it because he's played in the Libertadores Cup?

What I mean is does he take up foreigner spot. For instance Saviola, Aimar, etc., have European passports after years of playing in European leagues. That allows them to be fielded at any given point without restrictions. I don't know how many non-EU players does the Portuguese league allow you to field but I'm sure the brazucas on Benfica's first team eat up some of the spots. If Perez only has his Argentine passport then finding him a spot on the first eleven might become a problem.
2.5 Euros for half his pass is a bargain I think. Buying low and selling high as opposed to Sporting's philosophy on buying high and letting their players leave on free transfers.

Loco: First time, long time.
Any comments on the fall out of River from the top division?
Timmy's take? Buenos Aires was not going to sit still and allow them maple syrup swilling Canucks take the hooligan and mayhem belt. Like any champion, you have to BEAT the GOON to BE the GOON!
